"I paint costumed portraits and nudes, aiming towards rhythm, grace and, above all, good taste. My paintings focus not on the sexualization of the female form but her elegance and grandeur.. " Adrian Gottlieb

Gottlieb is commendable for being aware of the issue of the objectification of women. Thanks for providing the quote.
Though I admire the technical skill of 19th century artists, and their contemporary followers, I realise that many of the works from that period cumulatively had the effect of helping to degrade and disempower women.

Adrian Gottlieb is a genius. Has anyone seen his new Pianbura website?

http://piambura.com/

Has the history of how he developed the method and a link to examples of Pianburas.

Thanks for the link
You are right; his work is amazingly refined and subtle. The piambura technique is something I am looking forward to trying. I like the idea of concentrating on drawing and tone first, before adding colour.
